We’re on a conservation mission at Chester Zoo. And education is vital to that mission. We want everyone to know more about Earth’s incredible wildlife – and the dangers it faces. That’s the key to inspiring more of us to look after the planet’s precious biodiversity.

Our Discovery and Learning team is packed with passionate experts, who put together a whole load of exciting, hands-on learning activities through classroom sessions in Science, Psychology and Business Studies, Leisure and Tourism (BSLT).

The team also do our entertaining animal talks at the zoo enclosures, put on exhibitions, and creates the interactive signage across the zoo. There’s invaluable educational material everywhere in the zoo, and for all ages – from anecdotes about the animals to confiscated animal biofacts borrowed from HM Customs, or the virtual storm we’ve created in the Realm of the Red Ape.

School visits

We love welcoming school groups to the zoo, from nursery through every Key Stage and beyond. We’ll do whatever we can to help you get what you need from the day.
